The Liberty Bell Games, sponsored by Wendy's & Comcast-Spectacor, will take place on June 8, 9 & 10, 2012, at the Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, New Jersey. The application for the 2012 Liberty Bell Games will be open on January 2, 2012. Once more, it will consist of five teams with 16-18 man rosters, playing four games. Dates of birth will include 95/96/97.
In its fourth year, the Liberty Bell Games are sanctioned by USA Hockey and have been identified as the premier showcase for elite youth hockey players in the Mid-Atlantic region. As our event continues to thrive each year, an unprecedented number of local and nationally-known scouts and coaches from the NHL, NCAA, OHL, USHL, EJHL, Prepatory Schools and other Independents enthusiastically attend to observe our exceptional, highly-skilled potential prospects.
As you know; there are numerous hockey tournaments and events, but what makes our showcase so special? Our deep commitment is to make the Liberty Bell Games renowned for its unparalleled significance in youth hockey. The primary objective of the Liberty Bell Games is nothing less than emphasizing our talented players. A fundamental part of our initiative, first and foremost, is to provide our players with a unique opportunity to be recognized and evaluated by our attending scouts and coaches. In the last three years, nearly 50% of our players have been contacted and continued to be observed by our scouts and coaches.
In 2011, we had over 250 player applications. I would like to commend the 90 players that committed their time, talent and efforts to play. It's an incredibly difficult task selecting our 90 players and one we take seriously. Each application is individually reviewed and evaluated by our Administrators who follow stringent guidelines for player acceptance. We carefully choose our 90 players in an effort to highlight player talent in competitive games. This blueprint has been the key factor to our success and that of our players.
I would like to extend my gratitude to Wendy's & Comcast Spectacor for their unwavering support, the personnel at the Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone for their gracious, attentive assistance and to my colleagues and staff for their perseverance and tireless efforts.
